The Drill: Glimpse of the future
With draft weekend almost upon us, NFL.com senior columnist Vic Carucci gives us the top five former college stars whose pro potential he's touting:
1. Chris Long, DE, Virginia. His talent is immense, but his pedigree and attention to detail make Howie Long's kid the most NFL-ready player in the draft.
2. Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas. There might not be a better or more dynamic athlete in the draft.
3. Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State. A tremendously gifted athlete who has a chance to be a dominant pass rusher as a rookie.
4. Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU. Powerful and quick, he has what it takes to be a disruptive defensive force right away.
5. Jake Long, OT, Michigan. Has the size, strength and technical soundness to make any offensive line better in his first season.
