Arkansas getting used to new coach

New Razorback coach Bobby Petrino says some of his players on offense responded well to the pressure of an intense -- and long -- scrimmage on Friday.

"I do think there were things that we actually got better at as the practice went on," Petrino said of the offense. "D.J. (Williams) had some great plays, (Carlton) Salters had some good plays and I think Casey (Dick), with more and more reps, got better."

Dick totaled 304 passing yards on 24 completions during the scrimmage, which included more than 150 plays and lasted about two hours. Ryan Mallett left the scrimmage early with an apparent injury to his right thumb.

On the ground, the offense racked up seven touchdowns, including three by Brandon Barnett, who rushed for a team-high 71 yards.
