McFadden honored again by Little Rock TD Club
Darren McFadden can add three more awards to his collection, these courtesy of the Little Rock Touchdown Club.
Darren McFadden is the Heisman Trophy runner-up for the second straight season. But he is now the Touchdown Club's national player of the year. It's the second straight year he's won that award. The star tailback is also a repeat winner as the club's Southeastern Conference offensive player of the year and Arkansas Razorbacks player of the year.
Darren McFadden has been receiving awards from the club since he was a senior at Pulaski Oak Grove in 2004. He was named Class AAAA player of the year then.
The Touchdown Club will honor its award winners at a unique banquet January 10th. At the annual event, the club honors representatives from each of Arkansas' football-playing colleges and each high school classification.
One award that is still to be announced is the Paul Eells Award, which goes to "the Razorback player who has exhibited perseverance, determination, courage, and resolve in the face of difficult circumstances while also continuing to uphold the highest of standards as a player, teammate and student, with the most positive of attitudes."
Last year Robert Johnson won the award, named after former Razorbacks broadcaster Paul Eells. This year's winner will be announced in the coming days by the University of Arkansas.
The Touchdown Club has also decided to honor two Arkansas players who received significant national recognition - running back and kick returner Felix Jones and center Jonathan Luigs.
